sooji had never been the best at expressing her feelings. words always seemed to slip through her fingers like sand, leaving her grappling with a jumble of emotions that felt too big to name. maybe it was something that hadn’t quite made it into her programming as a human being. and so, when the weight of her day felt too heavy to bear, she dove into the vibrant worlds of her games, the cacophony of gunfire echoing in the artificial glow of her oversized screen. it was her escape, her way of letting off steam.

she was someone who always had something to say—endless chatter about everything and nothing—but when it came to her heart, her voice turned shy. perhaps it stemmed from her upbringing. her therapist had once uttered some platitude about “healing her inner child,” the kind of thing that felt too trite to truly matter.

so engrossed in her game, she hadn’t noticed chaos slip into her space. it wasn’t until she felt the lose of her keyboard beneath her fingertips and the gentle pressure of his presence that she realized he was there, his warmth spreading through her like sunlight. how he managed to fit so perfectly into her world, she couldn’t say, but in that moment, he was there—like a puzzle piece sliding into place.

chaos was always a whirlwind of silly antics, even before they’d stitched their hearts together into something that was more than friends. but this moment felt different. the way his arms wrapped around her wasn’t just a teasing embrace; it was tender, grounding. it lacked the usual mischief that often danced between them. for once, there was no playful push-and-pull, just a simple, sweet connection that made her breath catch in her throat.

sooji had never been good at asking for help—especially not for what she truly needed. but somehow, he seemed to catch on. even if he didn’t, something within her began to soften. there was a strange security in his embrace that wrapped around her like a blanket, making the mayhem of her mind quiet for just a moment.

it felt odd, really, how having him there made everything seem a little lighter. even if it should have felt suffocating, being smothered beneath chaos didn’t feel like a burden at all. perhaps being crushed wasn't so bad if it was at the hands of him.

a soft hum escaped her lips, a playful inquiry as she instinctively rubbed his back, her cheek resting against the side of his head, eyes fluttering shut for a brief escape. “hello to you too,” she murmured, a small smile creeping into her voice, realizing how this simple act had begun to ease the weight on her heart.

“you know,” she lingered, her fingers still moving soothingly across his back, though she could feel the heaviness of her earlier thoughts. “i was kinda in the middle of something.” her tone was light, a hint of mock irritation that faded quickly into warmth. “now my team is probably going to blame our loss on me being a girl,” she laughed, a glitch rattling through her shoulders as she pictured the exasperated faces of her teammates. and, it wasn't long before their complaints were ringing in her ears. the reason she removed a hand from his embrace, yanked off her headphones, and tossed them onto her desk, settling back into the comforting cocoon of his arms.

“eh, but i guess i could forgive you,” she said, a glint in her eyes as she found her way to his hair, giving his scalp a light scratch. “for a price,” she added with a grin. “i can spare a moment for my favorite distraction.”

in general i dont think fandom tattoos are a bad idea but i think u need to at least give yourself like a two year buffer from the end of that piece of media before you commit. like if someone told me "yeah im obsessed with hazbin hotel rn so im gonna get a hazbin hotel tattoo" id be like woah okay maybe put a pin in that idea for later. but if someone told me "yeah i read homestuck in its prime and i still love it so im gonna get a homestuck tattoo" id be like well fair enough its been like eight years. if you still like it now you'll probably still have fond memories of it in 20 years. you do you.
